I know, it's another post asking opinions about which series to watch next, except this time it's more like the next after next. *laughs* Anyway, it has recently come to my attention that I'm about to start watching my 100th anime series. (Right now, I'm in the middle of numbers 95, 96, 97, and 98.) To mark such a momentous occasion, I want to watch something special. These are the current series I have listed in my Netflix queue, in no particular order:

Koi Kaze
Lucky Star
Nerima Daikon Brothers
Code Geass
Nurse Witch Komugi
Yawara! Fashionable Judo Girl
DNAngel
Best Student Council
Serial Experiments Lain
Gilgamesh
Kodocha
Kino's Journey
The Familiar of Zero
Gurren Lagann
The Wallflower
Clannad
Save Me! Lollipop
Flag
Mushi-Shi
Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time
Figure 17
Yugo the Negotiator
Cromartie High School
Shuffle!
Please Teacher
Rumiko Takahashi's Anthology
Madlax
Honey and Clover
Welcome to the NHK
L/R: Licensed by Royalty
Animation Runner Kuromi
Weiss Kreuz
Descendents of Darkness
Hayate the Combat Butler
Darker Than Black

My question is, which of these should have the honor of being the 100th series? If you have any suggestions that aren't on the list, feel free to mention those as well and I'll see if Netflix carries them. I'm fairly open to almost anything, as long as it's not hentai, overly gory, or one of those long-running shonen tournament style shows, but my preference is shoujo, especially magical girls, romances, and slice of life. For a list of what I've already seen and how I ranked them, you can check out http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Heavenly_Pearl.

Thanks!

Cromartie High School or Lain. I lean toward's Cromarite High School because the series is just flat out entertaining.

Gurren Lagann? You will either love or absolutely loathe characters. Cromartie? Freddy Mercury, that's all that really needs to be said.

Hayate no Gotoku!!! Or, Hayate the Combat Butler, if you must.

Maybe it's because I'm a big anime dork and I love the random references to other series they throw in all the time. Maybe because it's because it's hilarious. Maybe it's because Norio frickin' Wakamoto is the Voice of the Heavens (No, really; that's the 'character's' name)/narrator. Whatever the reason, it is awesome. Cheesy

Code Geass, Lain, Kodocha, Kino's Journey, and Mushi-shi are all excellent titles.  That being said, since this will be your 100th series, you might was well go with Lucky Star or Hayate no Gotoku! and see if you can catch all the humorous references to the previous 99 you've seen.   Wink

Thank you for all the recommendations, guys. Turns out I miscounted and the next series I start will be the 100th, so I had to make a quick decision on what to put next in the queue. I also posed this question in my LJ, and after taking everybody's opinion into consideration, the winner is...

Gurren Lagann!

(Actually, the true winner was Code Geass, but the second season is still being released, so I went with the series that was already completely out since I like to watch series all at once.)

Well, I just finished watching Gurren Lagann. The verdict: TOTALLY AWESOME!

Definitely a good choice for the 100th. ^_^

Now, it's on to the rest of Lucky Star, which I'm also quite enjoying.
