At ViperInferno's suggestion, I made this thread.  Also because today's the date for the rewatch, and I watched episode 1 today.

Episode 1
I'm always surprised when I watch the old episodes because it doesn't seem like something made in 1992.  The music style and the lack of color in the animation (and the eyecatch in particular) give it a mid-80s feel somehow.

On the note of the eyecatch... is it just me, or do the guys sound considerably less enthusiastic than the girls when they shout "Sailor Moon"?  Gender wall ahoy!

When Usagi crumbles the test, the subtitles say she says "Oh, die!"  Now, I know "shi" isn't the only sound that means "death", but, yanno, anime has a lot of bad guys and they shout for the good guys to die in a lot of different ways.  None of them remotely resembles what Usagi says here so I'm thinking the subs may be wrong.  Anyone?

The scene when Usagi gives her mother the test always makes me laugh.  Why is she spinning that spatula? xD And Sailor Moon's expression when she points to herself is priceless.

Episode 1: Crybaby Usagi's Magnificent Transformation

Usagi's O_O! waking face. Priceless.

You know, the BGM for the Dark Kingdom kinda reminds me of the X-Files for some reason....

Haha, the fat lady bitchslapped Usagi.

You know, I've wondered how being hit a crumpled piece of paper could possibly hurt....
Also... AAAAAAH!!! IT'S THE OLIVE GREEN BLAZER!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

Something I've just noticed... you know how Sailor V's and Venus' sailor fuku are different, right? I've just noticed that those bands that terminate at the ends of her gloves near the elbows are the same orange as her normal Venus sailor fuku. No big deal, though; just an observation.

The eyecatch looks like she's standing in a giant diorama box.

Huh. Usagi's name is the only one written in kana, while the others are in kanji. Interesting.

And now the BGM during the first brooch's appearance sounds similar to when they talk about various products on The Price is Right. Is Luna trying to sell the brooch to Usagi (or is it the first item up for bid)?

You know, that hair ornament crisis detector thingy appeared in the manga, too, but only once. I wonder if Takeuchi-sensei forgot she did that, or if she just figured it was too easy to just use that to locate enemies (a lot of episodes would've been much shorter if that had continued to work).

And the Sonic Wail, too (don't know if there's an official name for it). One time only power, I guess. Well, I see it all the time in the SM fighting games for the Super Famicom, but you never see it again in the anime. Ah, whatever.



Episode 2: Punish Them! The House of Fortune is the Monster Mansion

You know, I wonder how Usagi thought she could sneak in when she's crawling right smack in the middle of Haruna-sensei's line of sight. Furthermore, how could Haruna-sensei not see her? O_o

Actually, what she says is massatsu which pretty much means 'erasure' or 'obliteration'. Since it's written with the kanji for 'erase' and 'kill', it's a fair approximation, considering that she's 'killing' an inanimate object.

Episode 1

What stands out for me most are the differences between the original version and the horrendous DiC dub version. From the OP to the dialogue to the deleted scenes, the original is just so much better in every way.

Moonlight Densetsu is a great song and really catchy. I like the OP animation as well and how it shows the duality of Usagi's normal persona and her Sailor Moon side. The music as a whole is a vast improvement; the Dark Kingdom's creepy violin and organ noises, Jadeite's trumpets, Sailor Moon's cheesy late 80's/early 90's electronica, it's all great.

I'm also actually picking up a lot of the Japanese that's being used. Years of hardcore subtitle watching have taught me well. 

Mamoru makes me laugh whenever he shows up for the simple fact that his seiyuu, Toru Furuya, also voiced Amuro Ray from Mobile Suit Gundam. Usagi's seiyuu, Mitsuishi Kotono, also voices Misato from Evangelion, but her range is such that it's difficult to tell that the two characters have the same seiyuu. Mamoru, on the other hand, sounds almost exactly like Amuro. Whenever I hear Mamoru yelling "Nani o iteru?!" (What are you doing?!) I always want to mentally add "CHAAARRR!!!" to the end of it since Amuro yells that at one point during Zeta Gundam. Also, the seiyuu for Luna/Queen Beryl voiced Lalah Sune from Mobile suit Gundam and Jadeite's seiyuu voiced Vash from Trigun.

Watching the first episode, it's hard to believe that Usagi eventually goes on to wield ridiculous amounts of power and become Neo-Queen Serenity. It's always amusing to rewatch a series after you've seen it all and realize just how far the characters go over the course of the story. Usagi's starting power level isn't anywhere near Nanoha's from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha though. Now I'm imagining Usagi getting her ass kicked by a 9 year old and laughing.

Episode 2

The deleted episodes always amuse me. It's so tame compared to most of what's on TV these days that I can't believe DiC cut this stuff. Also, Umino asking if he should attack Usagi from behind makes me lol.

What always gets me is how close Usagi comes on so many different occasions to falling into the Dark Kingdom's traps or just getting killed by a yoma. Either she has ridiculously good luck or the Dark Kingdom is just incompetent as hell. Also, I think Jadeite is flipping me off. I hope Luna gets treated really well once Usagi ascends to the throne as Neo-Queen Serenity. If not for her, Usagi would have never pulled that shit off.

Haruna kind of reminds me of Yukari from Azumanga Daioh. Or maybe it's the other way around. They're both single female teachers who are constantly pining for boyfriends, they're both loud and boisterous and a bit crazy, etc. I wonder if Yukari was modeled off of Haruna in some way.

Usagi should be lopping off her left ponytail whenever she uses Moon Tiara Action. I love older animation.

Episode 3

Going back to the "Dark Kingdom is incompetent" track of thought for a moment, it amazes me that it takes the loss of two yoma for Jadeite to realize that he's got some kind of problem going on. Although he still assures Queen Beryl that there's no real problem and everything will be taken care of smoothly. And it amazes me that he gets chased off by Tuxedo Mask of all people and can't defeat Sailor Moon when she's still level 1. But then again maybe he's just not getting serious yet. I have to admit that he has a great rape face though when he's approaching Sailor Moon after having stopped her tiara and deflected her kick.

Episode 4

You know, Usagi's probably getting a pretty good workout from fighting yoma and such, I don't really see why she would be gaining weight. Luna's drawing cracks me up though.

Oh look, some weird alien pod things with swirly lights! Let's climb in!

Usagi's daydreams are always really screwed up. Are all teenage girls like this? That might explain a few things actually...

Motoki said it was okay so I'm gonna pig out now! You know, I didn't really figure Motoki for BBW fetish... Gasp! Luna says I'm fat, I'm back to being emo! She's saying something about the bad guys but that doesn't matter right now because zomg I'm so fat! Arrrrggggghhhhh.... Skinny girls thinking they're fat pisses me off.

LUNA POUNCE!! She can actually be pretty scary when she wants to be. o.o

You know, if Jadeite wasn't such a pussy he could probably kick Sailor Moon's ass. Also, I was totally right about Usagi losing weight from fighting yoma. Luna says so!

We started the episode with bathtime fanservice, we had bathtime fanservice in the middle, and now we end the episode with more bathtime fanservice. If only there were more episodes like this.

Episode 5

God damn, Sailor Mars has really sexy legs. I love the OP animation.

Okay, I've seen this "Usagi introduces herself" segment four or five times now, it's getting old. This is one of the things I don't like about older shows.

Another deleted episode! I feel like the Chanela reminds me of something else, but I can't quite place it at the moment. Also, Tuxedo Mask's music during Usagi's dream sounds kind of like part of the ending music from the first Mega Man X game.

You know, why doesn't the Dark Kingdom just poison the water supply or something? It would be so much more efficient.

DiC really screwed up with cutting these episodes. This one has the first mention of the Moon Princess and introduces Mika, the girl that Shingo likes. Then again, DiC screwed up with a lot of things.

Dude Jadeite stop flipping me off already.

Amazingly enough, Usagi actually manages to do some deductive reasoning and figures out that the Chanela may be not such a good thing after all. Unfortunately, she winds up getting brainwashed by one. Luna saves the day once again!

Man, Sailor Moon's speeches just get weirder and OH SHIT A GIANT LIZARD BITCH! And lol the kids get mutated into lizards.

OH HAI, PLZ TO BE IGNORING THE BIG GLOWY BRIGHT SPOT THAT MARKS MY WEAK POINT! NO CAN HAS HIT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE? OH SHI-

And now Shingo loves Luna because Sailor Moon said so. I wonder what else he'd do if she told him... Hmmmmm... Maybe I shouldn't be pondering these things when I haven't had much sleep...

Okay, I'm done for now. It's been a long time since I watched this show, lots of great memories. Looking forward to the next set of episodes.

Viewing Mamoru vivaciously wearing a V for Vendetta mask is very vexing.  Why in the intro and nowhere else?  And speaking of the intro, what with the exploding roses?

"Orokana ningen!"  That's some catchphrase, Jadeite.  Pity about your fate.  Also, jeez, Beryl, only one episode in and you're already demanding people find the Silver Crystal.  I guess super impatience is a symptom of getting infected with Chaos.

Umino... damn, man, you get video games made based on your ideas and you want to marry Usagi?  Why don't you just make your own business?  Hookers will be linin' up, yo!

They still had platform arcade games in 1992? o.o

I love the early characterizations and relationships while there's still a small cast. All the Senshi are awesome, but it does get cluttered up and superficial with so many characters in there. :\

Uh, Naru? Mamoru just insulted your friend and you think he's cute? Seriously? Also, I think I like this Mamoru better for some reason. Maybe it's watching snarky bastards like Gregory House and Perry Cox that have endeared us to the concept of the lovable(?) asshole.

You know, this episode kinda makes me believe that the transformations are near-instantaneous despite the pretty light show and change sequence. I mean, transforming in mid-air like that, if the sequence was second for second, Usagi'd have an impressive hang time from that blast or she'd hit the ground mid-transformation.

Episode 4

Usagi doesn't exercise?  She's Sailor Moon, bitch!

Speaking of bitch, wow Luna.  Way to be the guardian.

Speaking of bitch again, holy crap, Usagi, Naru and Random Bitch #3.

Haruna's a Twilight vampire!  Kill it!  KILL IIIIT!

Naru: "Nothing is cheaper than free!"  Oh, Naru... you have NO idea.  When even Jadeite is telling you you're dumb, you fail at life.

Usagi: "Wow, he's gorgeous and looks nothing like the guy that kicked my ass a few days ago!"

The sad thing about this episode is that this is supposed to be a Dark Kingdom plan, but so much resembles what girls do already to lose weight.  "Push your body to the limit and become emaciated or you won't be beautiful!"

Wow, I'm totally trusting a weight loss companies that shoot goddamn RAYS at me.  "I may have metastasized cancer, but at least I'm beautiful!"

Motoki: "I think chubby types are totally cuter than really thin types."
Usagi: "Are you hitting on me, Mr. Furuhata?"

Man, Luna's a real bitch in this episode.  She makes fun of Usagi and exaggerates her future weight gain, then threatens to claw her face if she doesn't change to Sailor Moon.  Jeez, Luna, take a chill pill.

Sleepy Haruna was smexy, but Zombie Haruna is nightmare fuel.

I have to admit that, even if she's doing it for all the wrong reasons, seeing Sailor Moon kick the asses of some muscleheads is pretty fulfilling.

Episode 5

The dream sequence at the beginning kind of annoys me.  It's a reasonable dream for someone like Usagi to have at that point, but it seems like the writers play it for laughs, like "lol usagi's a scaredy cat".  Yeesh.  Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

And the running gag of Usagi assuming something she doesn't know about is food begins.

I like Sailor Moon's speech in this episode.

Sailor Moon telling Shingo to be nice to Luna was ultra cute.  Oh my God.

Finally got around to watching the episodes today. I wasn't too excited to watch these first few episodes. The ones with only Usagi in them are kinda boring to me, with one exception which isn't in this batch. I think it's probably a good thing that when I first started watching the show back in the day, it was during Nephrite's reign. I might not have given it much of a chance if I had started at the very beginning. *laughs*

Anyway, comments.

Episode 1

A 500,000 yen diamond ring, on sale for only 30,000 yen? Want! But, you know, without the whole energy suckage thing. No wonder the crowd went crazy for it.

Ah, the classic meet-cute. You know, if Mamoru isn't aware that he's Tuxedo Kamen, why does it seem like he's casing Naru's mother's store after Usagi walks off, as if he's aware that there's something strange going on in there?

Also, is locking your kids out of the house a Japanese form of punishment? From an American perspective, you would expect Ikuko to send Usagi up to her room to study, not kick her out the front door where there's tons of distractions to keep her from studying.

Heh, be careful what you wish for! Usagi wishes she could be like Sailor V, and the next thing you know, some weird talking cat is telling her that she's Sailor Moon!

Watching Sailor Moon's first season transformation always makes me feel nostalgic. It's not the flashiest, but there's still something special about its simplicity.

Episode 2

Is it just me, or does Jadeite look kinda like a pimp in that maroon suit he wears while checking out the old man fortune-teller?

It's no wonder Usagi never wakes up on time. Her alarm clock isn't obnoxious enough. I mean, chirping? Sure, it's a more soothing sound to wake up to, but Usagi needs something with a little more bang.

Motoki is such a sweetie, showing Usagi how to play the Sailor V arcade game. It's no wonder she think he's the one the old man was referring to when he told her that a boy liked her. Too bad for her the boy turned out to be Umino. (Although Umino's crush it cute in its own way...)

One of the funniest scenes of the whole show in my opinion is when Usagi decides to toss her shoe to determine whether to see the old man or visit the new fortune-telling place and it smacks Mamoru right in the face. *laughs* Who does that? Hasn't Usagi ever heard of simply flipping a coin? (Assuming that yen coins have different sides... I'm not sure if they do. Hmm. Well, still, the shoe thing is definitely weird.)

You know, everybody always talks about how Naru is a monster magnet, but Umino attracts his fair share of MOTDs as well. Not quite as many as Naru, but pretty close.

Episode 3

I never got the appeal of Midnight Zero. You're not brave enough to give your love letter to the guy you like, so you send it to some radio show to be read over the air? Seriously?

I think Usagi gets her love of sleeping from Kenji.

Snarky Mamoru really is quite a lot of fun. I forgot about that, since I don't watch the first season that often.

I want a disguise pen!

Tuxedo Kamen's laugh sounds kinda evil, don't you think?

Episode 4

Luna's picture of a fat Sailor Moon is just plain mean. Actually, Luna is mean all throughout this episode. I mean, was it really necessary to bring out the claws when telling Usagi to transform and save Haruna?

How does Usagi not recognize Jadeite after seeing him up close at the radio station? He's just wearing different clothes and some glasses.

Good for Motoki saying that he prefers girls to be a little chunky, rather than scary skinny. Motoki really is a nice guy... You know, I never thought that much about Motoki, but I think I'm kinda falling for him this time around. *dreamy sigh* May have to add him to the harem of bishies.

Why is Mamoru wearing a tuxedo for no apparent reason? I guess it's a reference to the manga, in which he does the same thing. Still weird.

Episode 5

Nothing much to say about this episode, except that I wonder if they named them Chanellas after Chanel. Chanel makes perfume, Chanellas are supposed to smell like perfume, and even the store is called Perfume. Never made that connection before.

You know, they're making Luna all scary and whatever, but after the scene moves back a bit, you can see the claws aren't that big. Besides, Usagi could just easily buck Luna off of her. I guess after Luna knocked her on her ass, she wasn't thinking too straight. And another thing, Luna's last line before Usagi transformed totally sounded like Beryl talking in Luna's voice. Of course, they have the same seiyuu, but still.

What the hell was with that cash register sound effect when they showed the muscle men's headband close-ups?

Haha, Luna, you just said the secret word.

And what's with the constant 2-in-1, 5-in-2, blah-blah-in-3 pattern throughout the episode?

Wow, Jadeite kept some energy for once.

Episode 5: A Monster's Scent! Chanela Steals Love

Usagi, you shouldn't tease ailurophobes by shoving a cat in their face. That's just cruel.

It's a testament to Usagi's lung capacity that she can knock Shingo over just by yelling at him.

Man, Usagi's got such easy-going parents.

Haha, Luna says Moon Princess (muun purinsesu) and Usagi hears Moon pudding (muun purin). Japanese puns. You gotta love 'em.

Episode 1
Luna should either be on Japan's Olympic gymnastics team or part of the Japanese Mafia. Usagi looks like she's about to wet herself when Luna stares her down.

Naru= epic win. I'm going to echo what Dejana said, it sucks that she gets less important as the series goes on. I understand why, but still.
Side note: I used Naru to remember "to sleep" in Japanese. The dictionary form is Neru

Sailor V *sigh* I wish they had made an anime out of it, not the least to see how Artemis acts without Luna there to boss him around.

ZOMG, cheap jewels! I find it interesting how the Dark Kingdom understands human wants and weaknesses (ie-wealth) enough so they can manipulate people but not desire it themselves. I suppose since Beryl wants to control the universe she craves power, but money doesn't seem to be a concept in that society.

Transformation sequence! I wonder how many more episodes until it gets old?

Beryl is already asking why the Ginzuishou hasn't been found yet. Only 45 more episodes of that.

Motoki is an incredibly decent guy. I give him a lot of credit for hanging out with Usagi and not wanting to punch something.

I'm guessing Umino exposing Haruna-sensei's panties is the reason this episode was never dubbed. Bitches. Evil Umino is rather amusing.

Jadeite should bank the energy he gathers or something, that way when Usagi kicks his ass every time he isn't empty handed. Ooh, my sub has Jadeite saying "Bam you failed" He could fill in for Emeril.

Episode 3: Mysterious Sleeping Illness, Protect the Girls' Hearts in Love

This can get out of hand very quickly *lol* Sorry I haven't posted any comments here as of recent, but I've been playing a lot of Ragnarok Online (friend of mine out of state got me into it), along with watching 5 Sailor Moon eps a week, so I've not been to .moon in a while. BUT, since I'm here now, I just slowly comment on the eps that I watched:

Episode 1

Why Usagi would be scared of a black cat in the beginning...well, most people are afraid of a strange cat staring you down while stepping up toward you. She looks like she's ready to pounce.

I do kinda like Naru's character a bit...she's pretty much the most normal character out of the whole series, being a part of a group of girlfriends, spreading gossip...you know, teenage girl stuff. It sucks that she's often used as youma bait. And I agree with Dejana and Catalina in that her significance slowly dies off as the series progresses. It isn't until moving toward the middle of Sailor Moon S where her role (and Umino's too) finally dies. So sad

As for Umino... Oh my God is he such a snitch. Read my comments in later episodes.

Very nice way to portray a true Senshi-In-Training, unlike Chibiusa who actually had guts to take it to the enemy. But that's probably because Usagi had just learned that she was a senshi, whereas Chibiusa had that knowledge all her life.

That youma....kinda reminds me of The Exorcist with the way her head does a complete 180. (I have the director's cut of that movie, btw)

Tuxedo Mask's appearence was more of a: toss rose, hi, I'm tuxedo mask, sailor moon kills youma, tuxedo mask disappears. It's a good thing that he gets more air time as the series progresses.


Episode 2

Wow, Queen Beryl's many minions are useful for something other than just decorations like the minions of the Dead Moon Circus are. She actually is using them to scout the area for the Ginzuishou. With Jadeite gathering energy for Queen Metalia, she used her minions to look for the Ginzuishou before Zoisite came along.

As for her crystal ball, isn't that how she communicates with Queen Metalia in the manga? She also uses it to monitor various happenings around the world. But it does amuse me at the fact that she's always waving her hands around it like it was muscle memory.

I so want to punch Umino's thick glasses off his face. He got Usagi in trouble when she tried to sneak in. Granted, she was late and deserved to get in trouble for it, but Umino didn't have to tell the whole class that Usagi was sneaking around. Way to be a good friend, Umino.

Speaking of sneaking around, how the HELL does Haruna not notice Usagi crawling in the isle right in front of her? I could understand if it was an isle off to the side where the students would be blocking, but she was RIGHT in FRONT of her. I'll never understand how it's so in Anime.

All this, and he likes Usagi. Uh, Umino-san...I don't think she's gonna go out with you when you just got her into trouble with your big mouth not once, but twice.

Uh, kinda like that princess with the thick glasses in Episode 22. But she was actually very pretty in the shot where she had dropped her glasses and then realized that a cat was talking to her. But honestly, I can't picture them together. They are not meant to be. I mean, Umino's a blabbermouth who gets her into trouble.

Is it just me, or is Usagi just a super-squeaky and overly-childish girl early in the first season. And she's that way as Sailor Moon too. It's a very good thing that her character matures as even the first season progresses, let alone the rest of the series. Oh my God, is she annoying in the early episodes. I think Mitsuishi Kotono overdid it a bit in the early episodes. Like I said, Naru is a pretty normal teenage girl, and quite pretty too with a pretty voice. She's pretty much the kind of chick I would date (sorry, as pretty as Usagi is, the overly childish and ditzy persona does not work for me). It really sucks that DiC messed her up and gave her the voice of a Brooklyn Italian chick. Nothing wrong with Italian chicks from Brooklyn (they make some good characters in Hollywood), it's just that it does NOT fit Naru.

Oh, and this is an episode that DiC cut out. Why? Well, 'cause Umino flipped up Haruna's skirt and he and a group of kids were throwing rocks through windows. They could've cut out the pantyshot very easily since it was only for a second or two. And they could've explained that "the cards made the kids bad and do bad things" and include it in their "Sailor Says" lessons. They should NOT have cut that episode out.

Is it just me, or did Motoki really have a bit of a crush on Usagi? He feels good everytime he sees her face. It's way better than how Umino tries to flatter her. (outside of being controlled by the youma's Devil Card) Perhaps that's why I like reading Usagi/Motoki shippers

Haruna has a smiley face on the back of her panties. Is she in her 20's (guessing her approximate age) or 6? Now if it was hearts or polka dots, I'd understand. I guess it was supposed to be a pun or something.

Wow, Tuxedo Mask gets a bit more airtime in this episode.

Episode 3

Wow, Usagi sure got into bed really quick when Luna scolded her for staying up all night listening to J-Dite's program. I can't even get into bed that quickly even if I wanted to.

Ikuko and Kenji make such a cute couple. A guy like him, a mild-mannered reporter (though he's no Clark Kent), has a pretty girl like Ikuko. Way to go, Kenji (slightly off-topic: I really like Ikuko's character  in PGSM. She's a much more upbeat and fun-loving character than her Anime and Manga character)

I would loved to have had a teacher to have us "just study whatever we want". It's every student's dream come true...especially an underachiever's. Why is Usagi the only one celebrating, albeit mildly? Why not the whole class, minus overachiever Umino?

Does Luna always talk to herself? Does she answer her own questions too? 

A "beautiful" reporter? Did she really have to add the "beautiful" part? Yes...it's Usagi, after all. Every girl wants to be beautiful. I thought Usagi was quite pretty in that get-up. However, if it supposedly gives her the abilities of the form she takes (refer to Episode 42), how is she having trouble walking in high heels? She's 14 years old now and still hasn't walked in high heels? Good god, every girl in the early 90's has to have worn heels at least once. As Eddie Izzard put it: "When a woman falls over in high heels, it's embarrasing." Good thing it wasn't a bloke in high heels *cough*Fisheye*cough*

She actually says something smart for the first time, taking over the broadcast and giving a nice little speech to the people about the meaning of writing love letters. How'd she get that knowledge?

And I liked how she transformed while flying through the air. Although I think they should've highlighted it more.

Episode 4

My God, Luna was mean to Usagi. She poked fun at Usagi's feeling of her gaining weight. In Ep. 3, she asked herself "Why doesn't Usagi treat me like this?" when Motoki offered her milk. Well, Luna, there's your answer.

I just noticed. Is Usagi the only girl in school who has criss-cross straps on her mary janes, while all the other girls' have the common single strap? I know Ami wears pennyloafers, and Makoto wears plain flats (as was part of the uniform of her old school). I guess that's how Takeuchi-san differentiated the Senshi from the other Juuban Junior High girls.

Wow, Umino's actually a bit of a perv...taking pictures of the teacher. I thought he had a crush on Usagi. So why is he taking pictures of Haruna? Maybe that kind of thing, the content of the pictures, turns him on. At least they weren't pornographic.

Uh, Naru-chan, you already are beautiful. No need to push yourself so hard on that exercise bike just to look beautiful. Do it to feel good. BTW....nice cleavage shot of Usagi. Now I know they covered that cleavage in the DiC dub. I have the resources to compare ^.~

Wow, is Usagi dreamy or what? I know for a fact that Motoki did not really say all that stuff about the power of his love. She must REALLY have a crush on him. He did say that he feels good when he sees her face. So of course she'd take his kind words for romance. And he likes chubby girls too over the overly thin type *cough*marykateolsen*cough*. But then that gets shot down when Mamoru makes teh really snide comment about Usagi eating her friends "Dumpling Head eating dumplings". Poor poor Usagi.

Again, Usagi is so annoying early in the series. They make her out to be a complete simpleton. "If you fight, you'll lose weight" Luna says. What a good way to get Usagi to see things your way. Sure she actually beats the bad guys by herself without Tuxedo Mask's interference (there was no youma in this episode), but it was with Luna manipulating her simple mind.

And Jadeite has a crystal ball too, and also waves his hands around it like Queen Beryl does. Her virus is contagious

Episode 5

Wow, Usagi was bullying Shingo for all those times that he annoyed the hell out of her....using a cat at a weapon Luna looked quite relaxed with the way Usagi was holding her. Then again, cats naturally go limp when their mothers hold them like that (or people when they do it right).

Moon Princess...Moon Pudding? Wow, and I thought Minako was the only one who got her similar-sounding Japanese words mixed up.

Those were some freaky-looking rabbits. Chanelas are nothing more than shaggy rabbits with evil looks in their faces. And they glow too. They must make excellent nightlights. And since he has a chanela now, he can kick Luna to the curb....quite literally. That was probably why DiC left the whole episode out...that and a couple other scenes of minor violence. They could've just cut that scene out and left the rest of the episode. But then again, I heard it was cut so that they could get to Ami-chan and Rei-chan much quicker.

And it wasn't just Shingo's behavior, but everyone in school who had them as well. That girl just assaulted a teacher, for God's sake. MAJOR no-no in Japan (and here in the States too). Poor Haruna got knocked on her ass good.

And Usagi changed too when she held a chanela. "I don't like you", she said to Luna, right before she jumped on top of Usagi's head and "YOINK", snatched her chanela and made off with it.

Good God Alabama.....SA-LAAP. She just slapped the hell out of Shingo for being so obsessive with the dangerous chanela.

Wow, the chanelas multiply like rabbits. (Umm...Viper, they ARE rabbits)

Behold, the only time you'll EVER see Moon Tiara Stardust in the anime. Then again, it wasn't needed anymore when she got the Moon Stick and could perform Moon Healing Escalation.

Nice lizard monster (I've always liked lizards). And it's the second time we see Sailor Moon actually kill a monster on her own without Tuxedo Mask distracting it. It's so bad that DiC left this episode out since we see her actually perform pretty well again, and without as much encouragement and manipulation from Luna. DiC SO wanted to rush bringing Ami-chan and Rei-chan, that they made Sailor Moon look like a wimp who can't perform on her own. Bad DiC.
