Ok, I admit I'm kind of new to Avatar,   (I noticed it was on sale on iTunes last month and, well, watched the entire series in about 20 days) but I think a 70 year jump is a good thing.  The heroes really did earn their happy ending and everyone ended up with their love intrest (except for Toph who just didn't have one).  If anything I'm kind of happy knowing that peace reigned in their time and that now someone else has to save the world.  I do hope they do plenty of references to the first series, maybe even a character shows up now and again (although Toph would be 82, with the rest of the cast being even older).

Actually, Toph had a totally unrequited crush on Sokka. It was pretty obvious in a couple of places.  Wink

The Serpent's Pass and Sokka's Master are the two episodes that jump out in my memory.

And she gets all blushy when Aang and Katara are making a big deal about Sokka coming back and tries to be all nonchalant about her own happiness over it in Sokka's Master.

Don't.  It wasn't really good.  Although I'm still getting it on Blu-Ray when it comes out.  >_>

But, yeah.  I'll wait for the new series to come out on DVD when it does.  I don't really have much time besides.
