Thankful for....

I'm in a bit of a mood and figured that as the end of the year approaches now is the time to realize what we're thankful for.

I'm thankful for a son who is healthy, happy, strong, clever and often insightful. I'm thankful for a husband who is the love of my life, my critic, my friend, someone whom I (and many others) respect a great deal. I'm thankful that while I'm not rolling in dough I am not worrying about feeding my son v. paying my rent. I'm thankful for my cats who annoy me but keep me company and make me feel better when I'm alone at night.  I'm thankful to have a warm apartment. I'm thankful that despite the soul-shattering grief of losing their daughter before she could really live my in-laws are the types of people who rally together to support the parents as they live through their grief instead of pretending it didn't happen, because I think we've all seen the core stuff of each other in this time and we're a lot closer as a result.

I'm thankful that I at least have SOME stuff to put on the tree that James and the cats can't break. >_>

I'm thankful for my wonderful job.  More than two years, I started at the bottom rung at a movie theatre, and I'm now a manager, growing in ranks.  I'm thankful for that chance, and for my supervisor, who is attentive to the needs of his employees, strict on rules, but not really a jerk about it.  In fact, he even jokes around sometimes.  I'm thankful I'm keeping this job, and that I'm enjoying my work, despite having very random hours.

I'm thankful for my family, who has been with me through thick and thin.  I'm thankful I'm not exactly mooching off my father anymore, and that I'm actually paying rent and taking care of my student loans, thanks to my wonderful job.
