View Statistics for Your Stories

Step 1: Click on the Profile button on any page of the site to go to your profile.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Actions section, and click on My Stories.

Step 3: Click on the View Stats link under the story you wish to see the statistics for.

Step 4: The statistics for that story will be displayed. There are three basic statistics stored for each story: the number of members who have added the story to their favorites, the number of times the story's summary page has been viewed, and the number of times each chapter has been viewed. If you want to see a list of exactly who has added the story to their favorites list, click on the number in the "This story is..." line. Note that the number of visits to the summary page is just that, visits. The system cannot count unique hits or hits just from logged-in members, it is only a general number of how many times that page has been viewed. The same goes for the chapter statistics. In the example below, a plain-text chapter was submitted. The system cannot count hits for plain-text files, so Visits are "N/A." For HTML files or chapters submitted through the text box option, a number of hits will be displayed.

View Reviews of Your Stories

Step 1: Click on the Profile button on any page of the site to go to your profile.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Actions section, and click on My Stories.

Step 3: Click the View Reviews link under the story you wish to see the reviews for. The number in parentheses indicates the total number of reviews that story has.

Step 4: All the reviews for the story will be displayed. The reviewer's username and the date of the review are shown along with the text of the review. .moon allows you the option of responding to individual reviews. Read on to learn about this feature.

Respond to a Review

Step 1: View the reviews for a story. If you are signed in as the author of the story, you will see two links at the bottom of every review: Respond publicly and Respond privately.

Step 2a: Messages that do not need to be seen by other readers, such as general thanks or conversation unrelated to the story, are best sent as private responses. Click the Respond privately link to send a private message to the reviewer.

Step 3a: Enter your response to the review and then click the Submit Response button. Your message will be sent to the reviewer in a PM. Private responses cannot be sent to anonymous reviewers.

Step 2b: If your response explains or answers questions about your story, or contains other information that you want all your readers to see, a public response is the best option. Click the Respond publicly link to submit a response that all visitors to this site will be able to read.

Step 3b: Enter your response to the review and then click the Submit Response button. Your message will appear in italics at the bottom of the review, identified as an "author response."

Delete a Story

Step 1: Click on the Profile button on any page of the site to go to your profile.

Step 2: Scroll down to the Actions section, and click on My Stories.

Step 3: Click on the Delete link under the story you wish to delete.

Step 4: Confirm this action by clicking the confirmation checkbox, and then click the Delete Story button. Make absolutely sure you are deleting the right story, and you are sure you want to do this! This action will delete all stored information for the story, including the summary data, chapter files, and reviews. Once you click this button, the story cannot be recovered.

Step 5: A confirmation screen will appear saying the story has been successfully deleted.
