.moon - Help and Info
  • General Rules
These rules apply to the entire site and are in addition to any rules that may be posted in the individual forums.

    • Basic Etiquette
Remember the Terms of Use you agreed to upon joining this site. You are expected to treat your fellow members with respect and to follow all posted rules.
    • Thread Length
Threads will be locked at 1000 posts. You may create a new thread to continue the discussion when a thread gets locked for this reason.
    • Thread Age
A thread is considered "dead" if there have been no new replies for at least 30 days. Please do not bump dead threads; make a new thread on the topic instead if you want to discuss an old subject. Likewise, there should be only one active thread on a particular topic at a time. Duplicate threads will be merged or locked.
    • Responsibility
You and you alone are responsible for content uploaded or posted using your user account. If rules are broken under your username, you will be held accountable for those actions, even if someone else was using your account. It is your responsibility to ensure that kind of thing does not happen. The nature of the internet makes this rule necessary. Please keep your password and account safe.
    • Thread Ratings
You must select a rating for every new thread you create. Threads containing strong language should be rated at least PG. Threads containing sexual references, no matter how mild, should be rated at least PG13. The highest rating is R; NC17-level content is not permitted in the general forums. Thread ratings should fit the kind of replies you expect to get, but they are primarily based on the content you are posting yourself. If you post content in a thread you created that exceeds the rating you chose, a moderator will change the rating to a more appropriate one. If someone replies to your thread with more adult content than the rating allows, a moderator will edit that reply to fit the selected rating. All subject lines must be G-rated.
    • Pseudo-Mods
Please refrain from attempting to police the boards yourself. If you see someone breaking a rule, use the "report to moderator" link located on every post to bring the problem to the staff's attention. It's tempting to post a public scolding, but that only leads to more of a mess for the mods to clean up later. It is far more productive to ignore a problem and allow staff to handle it. The site administrator personally keeps an eye on the forums twelve hours a day on average; it will not take long for a staff member to arrive on the scene. If you must say something personally to the rule-breaker, send a private message instead of replying to the thread.
    • Miscellaneous
The red and blue font colors are reserved for administrator and moderator use only. If you figure out how to use them, don't.

  • Rule Enforcement

    • Forum moderators have the power to edit or delete your posts. They may issue warnings to rule-breakers and recommend further disciplinary action to the administrator when necessary.
    • As a member, you get five strikes, after which you will be banned from the entire site or at least the area in which you have been breaking rules. Strikes are not the same as moderator warnings. Only the administrator can call a strike against you. Strikes will be given publicly in the affected forum thread, if applicable, for the record.
    • Strikes are a privilege, not a right. The strike system is not a license for you to break the rules five times. In extreme cases you may be banned immediately, with or without notice. However, please rest assured that we are a fair group and will not ban anyone without good reason and no practical alternative. This is a friendly and welcoming community and we want it to stay that way.
