Disclaimer: I don't own Sailormoon and its characters. -- Chapter 5 -- To have both Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion begin to feel the hidden attraction towards one another from within, the young royals must cooperate with fate, otherwise it would prove just as useless as trying to stop the water from flowing. Unfortunately, that was exactly how the pair was: attempting to avoid meeting with one another. Even if they had coincidentally collided at the hall, dropping a word or two was definitely all they did. "That really was pathetic" and, "They should have interacted with each other more" were their friends' replies if asked for their opinions on the royal couple. The four official couples apparently shared the same idea to push them together, but it turned out that it backfired instead. If they were asked to describe the result of their plan, their replies would be identical, sounding something like "It was a total disaster." Certain catastrophic events had demonstrated that enough. "Sere, this is the garden we told you about. It is breath taking is it not?" informed the Martian Princess. "These roses are so pretty," butted in Princess Makoto of Jupiter. "I wish Io Castle (1) had something like that." Another attempt to persuade the Moon Princess to talk had failed. It, however, did not mean that they would give up on the plan they were plotting. If the idea of bringing up the garden did not appeal to their princess, then maybe the positive characteristics of the prince would. "I wish Prince Endymion would share his secret on how to create a garden while maintaining his duties at the same time." They would not give up even if they were making their third attempts. "I heard he is a very romantic person." Princess Rei sighed dreamily. No, not even at their forth attempts either. "Speaking of which, do you happen to know where he is?" that final attempt would have seemed to be working, if it was not for the devil himself emerging from the path opposite to where the girls were standing; hence the responses of the two planetary princesses sending their most murderous looks towards two innocent looking generals. ---------- Prince Endymion, had been on his bed reading "Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix" peacefully for the last half hour. It was he thought, a present from his parents, but in actuality was a gift from a certain Sailor Senshi (2) from the 21st century. He was more than a little displeased after being dragged out of his room by his friends: Nephrite and Jadeite without giving him a chance to counter their stupid reasons. "Come on, Endymion. Let's check out that rose you bred the other day." That precisely was their very first mistake, because for people who supposedly had knowledge of botany they would have known it took a month for a rose to bloom. If the prince recalled the time correctly, he cultivated Alba (3) merely a week ago. It, therefore, would mean that they, the generals, had something up their sleeves. Only an insane person would go visit the garden in the middle of the night to see a bloomless rose; that, was their second mistake. If looks could kill, then his poor friends would have died right there on the spot if the most deadly glares from their girlfriends were any indication. Sadly, the story did not end there. Right after the snappy reunion, the generals had accidentally forgotten their purpose for being out at that hour. Instead, what they did was spend a sweet moment with their own girlfriends, abandoning the royal couple at their backs. Not long afterwards, they broke into an argument, again forgetting the uncommunicative couple behind them. Watching proceedings, uninterested in the drama unfolding some two or so yards ahead, the Lunar Princess and the Terran Prince both yawned simultaneously before heading back to their respective chambers. Twenty minutes later, after making up did the planetary princesses and generals realize that they were the only ones left on such a freezing night. -- End of Chapter 5 -- Glossary: (1): the name of one of Jupiter's moons (2): another word is Sailor Scout or Sailor Soldier (3): a white rose ---------- Cdgal: My deepest apology to all readers out there, it's another short chapter, I know, and am sorry for not updating it sooner. I'm very disappointed in myself that I didn't write enough for this interlude, but at the same time I was afraid of wordiness and would get boring too; so, I cut the slack by giving only one so-called demonstration. I hope that I will keep the same pattern, as well as not to intervene the chapter, but to let it tells its story. There will be more suspense in the next chapter of "Cinderella Style". Please looking forward to it.
