Elemental Princess
Act 1
When I entered the sacred shrine, I closed my eyes and Usagi's sweet face appeared before me. My hands trembled as she held them close to her heart.
Rising on tiptoes, she kissed me and whispered, "I love you, Mamoru."
I told her how much she meant to me. Sensing another presence, I turned to see the small black four-footed figure approaching the shrine. I turned back to face Usagi and smiled. I noticed a sparkling sapphire tear gliding down her cheek; it adorned her love-lit face beautifully, melting my heart. Within seconds, we were opening ourselves to a dreamlike kiss. We felt Luna's soft fur caress our legs as she mewed and purred, wrapping her soft body against us.
Usagi's appearance was stunning, amplified by her backless pink evening dress, its golden crescents lining the bodice and hem of its flowing skirts. Her penetrating azure eyes probing deeply into mine, the small bulge gently pressing against my stomach brought joy to my heart. Usako looked so beautiful, like a young mother goddess.
Usagi took my hands, placing them upon her small rounded belly and we laughed as we felt Chibi-Usa kick.
"Mamo-chan... I feel her moving inside... She knows we are together, I'm sure of it!"
Act 2
I unfurled a scroll I had ordered for Usagi's birthday and read it aloud, "My Moon Queen is the harmony of my heart. She sits at the loom weaving the tapestry of magical power and speaks the language of the heart, for the tales we weave speak to us in rhymes and song. Usako, you are my inspiration, my goddess and my beloved Odango Atama."
Usagi laughed and snuggled her head under my chin. I smiled and gently stroked her soft golden plaits.
She looked up and said softly, "That is majorly sweet, and so pretty!"
Luna mewed as she jumped upon the circular temple wall. We saw what caught her attention as she spoke, "Guys, I think we're in for a storm! We better go to Rei and Yuuichirou's house!"
We turned to one another, kissed, and told Luna we wouldn't be long.
The night drew us into its confidence as the skies opened up and yielded to the entreaties of a thirsty earth. The majestic thunderheads flashed silently, threatening to swallow the moon whole.
I quickly took Usagi's hand, and we walked quickly with Luna to my car a short distance away.
The armada of thunderheads looked like giant black tomcats, hissing and growling angrily as they fast approached. We glided through the streets of Tokyo and soon pulled up in front of Rei and Yuuichirou's place to help look after their cute little daughter, Kako. I stopped the car, opened the door and helped Usagi to her feet, and we moved briskly toward the beautiful house Yuuichirou and Rei had built to start their new family and life together.
Just as we reached the stone veranda, the first tears of rain descended, satisfying their great need. The clouds poured their bounty upon the fecund earth.
We watched for an enchanted moment, the rain feeding the profusion of flowering plants in Rei's elaborately sculptured garden. The moon re-emerged from a blanket of receding storm clouds. The luminous crystalline garden shone like stardust, and it seemed the moon had symbolically kissed the children of the Moon and Earth kingdoms.
"Wow, Mamoru, isn't this moment so beautiful? The rain looks like millions of tiny diamonds holding onto an eternal moment... It's as if they're whispering their secrets to each other."
Rei and Yuuichirou greeted us warmly, with enthusiastic hugs as they welcomed us on the veranda. Usagi smiled as she excused herself and descended the stone steps and stood in the center of the rain-drenched lawn.
Raising slender arms, palms outstretched to catch the last teardrops of the deluge, I found myself spellbound as Usagi's fingertips spun a web of pink light around her lovely body.
Little Kako clapped and squealed with delight at the awesome sight. The bowing foliage encircling her seemed to pay homage to the queen of my heart and the Moon Kingdom, shining as brightly as the disk she loved so well.
Her pink catlike tongue caught a few stray raindrops, some of which settled in her hair, giving her plaits a celestial glow.
Usagi made contact with the ocean of love moving inside her. She personified strength, vulnerability, and quiet determination this night, amplifying her magical power.
I moved to her side as Rei and Yuuichirou, with baby Kako, left us alone for a moment.
I continued my recitation. Usako took my hands and we lost ourselves in one another's eyes.
"You are the four seasons, as spring, your creativity and enthusiasm is invigorating, your laughter infectious. You bring joy and peace, and at the same time, you challenge and excite me. Like the beautiful child asleep in your womb, a new sprig of life has also emerged within my heart." She kissed me gently, and her eyelids fluttered like the wings of a butterfly as I went on, "As summer, you are the ripeness of my heart, the bountiful harvest personified; the golden daystar that bestows warmth and as the lunar disk, caresses the lands under your kiss of the starlit night. Your golden tresses, fashioned from Freya’s loom, your voice the melodic whispers of the Goddess’s heart and your eyes draw me upon their alluring tides, I am your supplicant and champion.”
Tears welled up in her loving eyes as she, deeply moved by my words, smiled warmly as a lone glittering tear trickled down her blushed cheek.
"As winter, you bring forth a time of reflection and consolidation. I hold your image close to my heart. Your laughter, like the promise of summer rain, the chorus of melodic songbirds in the sleeping forest of my dreams that shall in its turn step forth once Lady Winter withdraws and the spring maiden returns, love in perpetuity, and in this knowledge I am content." Usagi placed her head upon my shoulder, and I stroked those plaits, so much like soft bunny ears and felt the warmth of her body enveloping me. I smiled, took another deep breath, and continued, "as autumn, you are full of fun, and a little mischievous, like dancing leaves on a windy day twirling around our ankles, as we walk hand in hand through the forests of our lives, your movements graceful and supple, filling me with longing."
Act 3
Somewhere in the Silver Millennium
The first thing I noticed about the beautiful young woman was her smile. She was a picture of loveliness, the white frilly dress she wore fluttering in the warm summer breeze, daring to lift her skirts around her contoured hips to reveal the shapely-bronzed legs of a goddess beneath the floating hem. My heart went into palpitations, and I beheld the sculpted limbs of a classic beauty.
Walking in her direction, I observed the unusual style of her hair. It reminded me of long, soft rabbit's ears. I loved the streams of gold, which curled and fell to the backs of her knees, her face possessing loveliness, unprecedented, her eyes a magnificent blue. As she looked into mine, the most peculiar sensation overcame me. I felt as if I had known this lady somewhere before. Her open disposition pleasantly surprised me, as if she were sharing the same experience. Incredible as it might sound, she told me much later that she had felt the same, as had I.
I stood in front of her and bowed, then took her hand and kissed it. She blushed and nodded. Then, a strange thing happened. She took both my hands, stood on tiptoe, and kissed me on the cheek. I decided to break the ice.
"Good day to you, fine lady."
She lit up like a spring dawning, "Good day to you, too, my fine sir." we were floating on a cushion of bliss at this point. I had the presence of mind to ask her name, and she replied, "You, my fine sir, can call me Lady Serenity."
She winked at me as she leaned luxuriously against a tree.
I replied enthusiastically, "My name is Endymion. Shall we go for a walk?"
Without hesitation, she slipped her arm into mine, and we were on our way. That was how it began. She was surprised to discover I was a prince of the Earth Kingdom. She had said with genuine reverence, "The famous Prince Endymion; I hope I am worthy of your time," and with this, she proceeded to tickle me. I think I laughed more than she did on that occasion. I almost fell into a fountain when she told me she was the Princess Serenity, the Moon Queen's daughter,. We often walked together.
"I don't usually accept the notion of fate, but Serenity, I think our meeting is definitely no accident and this pleases me no end!"
Serenity blushed and we continued on our way toward the palace gardens.
As our courtship grew more intense, we began to fall in love. We went to many official balls, and frequented the theatre on countless occasions. The first time I realized I was falling in love with Serenity was on the banks of the Tranquility Lake, beneath the crystal dome of the Queen's capital. She laid a blanket upon the green bank and prepared a sumptuous luncheon for us. To my surprise, she hitched up her dress, revealing those gorgeous long legs, and asked me to roll up the cuffs of my pants and wade into the water for a short time. At first, I was a little reluctant, but that magical smile and irrepressible spirit for adventure decided me in favor of this flight of wonderful fancy.
She looked a pretty sight in her yellow dress, tastefully lined with blue ruffled silk. The dappled water's reflection highlighted the beauty of her graceful body. We were laughing and splashing about.
Suddenly, Serenity lost her footing and fell into the water. I acted quickly, for the current was undetectable to the naked eye. I dived in after her, momentarily losing sight of her. Fortunately, my acute vision fixed on a struggling form in the grasp of a sinister watery nemesis, the old gnarled claw-like tendrils of a submerged tree root held the beautiful princess in its grip. Serenity's dress caught on an ancient branch. I quickly freed her from the serpentine creature and brought her to the surface.
Some people heard the commotion and offered assistance. My quick thinking had saved my love from drowning. I pumped the water from her lungs and gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Some women gave Serenity clean, dry clothes sent for by Artemis and Luna, who rushed to our aid.
An hour later, the palace physician, Lady Ami, examined Serenity and me. I sat beside my love; she looked so lovely and peaceful. Unexpectedly, her eyes flickered open, and she put her arms around my neck and kissed me with overwhelming passion.
She then spoke in a husky whisper, "Well, my dear doctor Endy, I suppose we must do this more often."
I replied, smiling, "But next time, my darling, let us dispense with the plunge into the river."
She pouted, and smiled in the wonderful way I had come to know and love. "But I love being rescued by my hero, Tuxedo Kamen! I know about that, though, my love. I think you're right about the lake. Kiss me again."
Act 4
Serenity my Galatea
I sit, I write, the wellspring of creative inspiration rushes through my being and from my heart. A great force of love possesses me this resplendent day, and it is this power that pours itself as libations upon these pages.
I take a journey into the realms of fantasy, myth and legend. I only know your love shall direct my hand in the following works dedicated to you.
Endymion is a renowned sculptor, working tirelessly day and night. He works in a gallery filled with the offerings of his heart. These many objects of great beauty are a testament to his dedication and creative gift, his tribute.
The hands of the craftsman give freely of their fruits; they caress the pink marble with exceeding tenderness. His touch endowed with the subtle perceptivity of a lover's hand.
The stunning form stands before him; she seems to be watching him as he worships her with his eyes. A beatific image cast in stone, his Serenity, fashioned from the fires of Aphrodite's hearth.
She is a joy to behold; the stone woman seems to gaze at him through almost living and knowing eyes. Her hair flows over sculpted shoulders, cascading over full breasts, her sumptuous figure exuding a radiant countenance. Each muscle and sinew almost brought to life. At first glance, one could imagine this beautiful statue capable of movement. For one fleeting moment, he believes he can actually see her chest moving gently as if she were breathing.
She lives in his heart and whispers her endearments within his mind. But alas, she is but an image, a dream carved from a block of cold marble.
The tender ministrations of the artisan obvious as one looks upon this magnificent image, her jaw line exquisitely carved, her sweet mouth that opens to speak to the stars of night and accompany the chorus of songbirds at dawn, easily imagined. If she were given voice, her singing would indeed be a salutation to all existence.
As he gazes longingly at his love, he craves the sweet fruits of her love. These thoughts bring with them waves of seductive pleasure that wash upon the shores of his soul. Birds sing their sweet morning symphony, but no sweet lady leads this melodic ensemble, no such ambrosia for the ears filling his heart.
Though glad she sprang into his life from a block of pink marble, he finds himself in a state of conflicting emotions, for his heart both sings and laments.
His eyes fall sadly upon her naked form, for she is seemingly destined never to be his, and always trapped in her eternal slumber.
He feels he will never know her in flesh and blood. He looks upon her face once more, and approaches his beloved, he kisses once again the unyielding lips of stone. Her mouth does not move to his kiss, nor do the eyelids flutter open. Her hair fails to dance to the whims of the warm summer breeze. His heart cries out, he feels the gathering of the harvest has been denied him; his soul melts into a pond of sweet sadness. All Mother Nature is petitioned to bear witness to his sorrow.
~*~
Whilst brushing her golden hair, sitting on a cloud, Aphrodite hears his cries. She stops brushing. She hears and responds to the pleas of the artisan.
She looks down upon him as he sits in the gallery on the seat next to his beloved and projects her voice into the gallery and speaks to him.
"Fear not, oh devoted artisan, your dreams are no longer beyond your reach." he turns in a panic, but soon listens carefully as he recognizes the voice of a -- Great One – as she addresses her mortal servant. "Allow your heart to take wing, for it is your beloved who awaits your pleasure. Close your eyes and give yourself into the heart and arms of she whom you adore."
He hears the words of benediction, but momentarily is unsure. Suddenly, he feels warm hands softly moving over his shoulders. Soft, long blonde hair falls over his face, caressing his lips as she covers him with kisses.
As if moving at great speed, I find myself back in our study. My beloved wife, Usagi, covers me with kisses and then tickles me.
~*~
I turn in my swivel chair and take my Usako in my arms. We go over the piece I have written, and in-between long sessions of affectionate exchange, we share our other passion, writing.
Eventually, the night calls the lover as it calls the eyelids. We retire for a night of tender loving and rest in one another's embrace.
Act 5
The heart as Virtuoso
For you, my darling Usagi, a garland of roses to drape upon the skies, rainbows and decorate the armadas of cloud.
If one could weave dreams into the perfect form, then in you, my beautiful Odango, I have found it.
If an eternal moment is found anywhere, it is found in your eyes, the deeper seas of your unspoken love, your desires and rapturous wonders. You are Goddess, your love is the bounty upon the tables of my life, you care for me and I adore you. We are partners in all things.
We are as moon and sun, bridged by the constellations under an eternal canapé bathed in the love we share, a true tribute and salutation that extends to the four directions. The crystal pillars of the elemental circlet of love and life, where we shall always reside, my Usako, I do love you!
