Dr. Kate Pulaski: [to herself, analyzing a deadly virus] it's an eager-beaver plague...
Lt. Commander Data:
Query...”Eager Beaver"?
Dr. Kate Pulaski:
Well, in this case, 'eager beaver' refers to some over-achieving genetic engineer who - probably because of lack of anything better to do - has forced this strain of virus to mutate - just so he can see how bad, bad can get.
Star Trek Next Generation
Mamoru and Usagi were so glad it was all over. The last few weeks were tumultuous to say the least. The emotionally charged, yet moving state funeral for Mamoru and Rei’s father, Hu Jing-Quo having brought a nation and the world to a standstill; a minute’s silence punctuating the synapse between one era and the next. Then humanity’s ultimate fate decided in the affirmative, but only just through the agency of Saturn and Chibi-Chibi. Once the Senshi and Shitennou Special Forces had returned to the compound with their prisoners, Yatan and the Sovereign were placed in stasis tubes and flown to Tokyo Japan. Soon thereafter, Aiko, Mamoru, Rei and Usagi set about taking care of matters of state from the presidential compound in Beijing.
Throughout the Chinese territories and around the world, celebrations were running day and night and this no different on the streets of Tokyo and nation-wide. The Palace alight with merriment and parties for royal guests and the music fest transmitted via holo-cast uplink globally.
'Oh yeah, so much to think about and so much still to do!' Usagi was only just beginning to understand what her mother had endured all these years. She sighed, now feeling the weight bearing down upon her own shoulders, the intensity of leadership that she’d always taken for granted. Now, here she was, an empress of a major new power block, and with the man of her dreams beside her, a love she’d never known until she’d almost lost him. Granted, a gradual realization, but upon opening her heart, knowing it was well worth the wait. She squeezed Mamoru’s hand, and he looked down at her with adoring eyes. She swooned once more as she breathed in the charged atmosphere. She was truly content.
She admired her mother all the more for her great strength and forbearance and smirked at her own devil-may-care attitude that was now ancient history. Finally, on a number of fronts, her eyes were at last opened, albeit with the proverbial pair of pliers. The thought made her giggle, but the irony wasn’t lost on her either.
‘Boy, was I a pain in the butt or what!’ she shook her head and allowed the shouting and cheering crowds to soothe her restless mind as she enjoyed the tickertape parade.
The stunning float appearing like a cross between a lotus and chrysanthemum was most eye-catching. Young adolescent girls in kimono of all colors, their hair adorned with laurels of chrysanthemums, sang and read poetic prose in honor of the newly appointed monarchs as others dressed as characters from a host of Manga and Anime danced, delighting the royal contingent and the crowds looking on. Children cradling plushies sat on cushions ringing the dais as the float drifted down the central promenade. Usagi and Mamoru stood proud upon the highest point of the magnificent float flanked by the lovely Empress Aiko, in a light-green gown, its golden dragon and chrysanthemum motifs glorious; the sleeveless garment elegant and sexy. Aiko stood by her consort, Sokhumi, in an indigo robe lined with silver stars. He was smiling at his wife and their children whilst holding Aiko’s hand, Shingo and the twins, Ikuko and Reika laughing and enjoying themselves.
Meanwhile, the lovely Hino Rei was joking with a palace aid, Yuuichirou. The newly appointed Chinese President's hip-length jet-black hair catching the light as she had the hearts of all as flowers tossed by admirers showered the giggling and blushing president; the children gathering these floral tributes in hand-woven baskets, placing these at her feet. Rei was busy blowing kisses to the cheering people who couldn’t get enough of her. She was truly in her element. With haunting deep amethyst eyes, these setting off the gentle beauty of her face, the long dark lashes, and full lips adorned with bright-red lipstick, the regal high cheekbones; she was exquisite. Rei’s hair flowing over her cherry-red halter neck top showing off her curvaceous figure to perfection. The glittering firestone medallion bearing the crest of Mars lined with a swirl of stylized flames issuing forth from winged dragons was eye-catching as were the knee-length black skirt giving way to long shapely legs clad in rose-colored silk stockings to the obsidian high heels.
Usagi, on the other hand, was decorous in a beautiful shimmering sea-blue gown. With a luxuriant long flowing argentum cloak draped over one shoulder. In awe at the multitudes on the streets, she waved with enthusiasm and true affection for her new subjects. She, Empress of the new federation, a glamorous deity would rule with love and wisdom. Usagi’s sun-bronzed shoulders, upper chest and bare arms to her small hands contrasted with the golden gleam of her hair, and especially the deep blue of her eyes. She enjoyed the cool sensation of the soft fabric caressing her silken skin, encouraged by a cool breeze on this unseasonable hot day in the capital. Mamoru loved the layers of pearls lining the bodice, the bejeweled bands of pink, silver and white pearls twirling their way around her gorgeous contours, thousands of them in glittering procession. He loved everything about her gown, from the body-hugging bodice, to the silvery-blue cord at her slim waist that gave way to rounded hips and a waterfall of soft flowing skirts that fanned out and moved as she moved. Mamoru adored the sapphire crescents lining the hem, these sparkled and generated a glittering ring of electric blue light about her ankles. Usagi’s odangos were tied in place with two scarves of the finest silk festooned with tiny diamonds, gold crescents and chrysanthemums; these beautifully handcrafted for the occasion.
Mamoru, in a deep midnight blue uniform, was also impressive. He looked amazing, Usagi thought. She took in the gold sash running diagonally across his muscular chest. She swooned, unable to help herself as she admired the tight fitting outfit accentuating every muscle and his height and over-all male magnificence and sexiness. She especially loved the blood red rose pinned to his chest with the crest of the new federation and its motto, ‘We unite all, we are holden to the dream of touching the stars, but we never forget our roots,’ also on banners, flags tee-shirts, badges and tattoos of people of all ages. Holo-projections beamed into just about all public places, including live feed from the Great Wall of China, where more dancing, singing and festivities were well underway. Throughout the mountain regions, the banks of the mighty Yangtze and as far as Taiwan and Hong Kong, all in party-mode on this, the most auspicious of days added to the excitement.
The streets alive with a host of entertainers: dancing girls, musicians and singers featuring a raft of genres from rock, dance to fusion bands. Street theatre and art exhibitions, dragon parades and fireworks were in plentiful supply as well. It was the same all over Asia, celebrations of the end of the incursion and of the formal signing of the Asian Federation Pact of member states and the beginning of a new era, for not only Asia, but the shift to a new biosynthetic physiology that had colloquially come to be known as the “Synthogenesis” was also celebrated.
Things were returning to normal, but a relative, “normal” for the vaccinations were changing the face of the planet forever. With the last of the Dragon Kingdom’s drones and land forces taken out, and the mopping up operations well underway; the Illuminati -- the true dark power behind them destroyed by Chibi-Chibi and Saturn, victory was indeed sweet.

Both women along with Endymion sat before the world at a press conference held within the presidential compound the following day after a well-deserved rest.
“On this day, I, Hino Rei, your president declare my intentions to govern for all my people, in concert with my brother and his lovely wife, and my dear friend, Empress Usagi, the federation’s first empress. As our great nation unites with others, we move forward in a new era, not only politically, economically and so on, but also as a species. We are all changed, survival the driving force and we will work together to support each other as we make this daring leap into a new future with hope and energy. We can rebuild our world and indeed the process has already begun. I offer you my loyalty, my wisdom and my love and I hope, good and fair government that will stay the course for this and subsequent centuries to come. Thank you all and be proud, be Asian!” she smiled as tears trickled down her cheeks as Usagi, then Mamoru hugged her.
“You did great!” Mamoru whispered as he kissed her cheek and stroked her hair, bringing a warm smile to her lips.
“Thanks Mamoru, I mean, Endymion…it suits you, you know,” she winked.
“It sure does, Rei, he’s a darling is he not?” Usagi said, her eyes filled with love and happiness.
”Thanks girls, you’re both fantastic,” he said, cuddling Usagi and his sister.
“You’re most welcome, muffin! Now, I must do my thing.”
They then made their way back to the press conference where Aiko was addressing the throng and making the audience laugh with anecdotes of palace life. After their short break for a bite to eat, they were ready and soon Aiko wound up and Usagi cleared her throat, and sat down in front of the waiting media and began her speech, “Isn’t mother great, I love you mom!” the audience laughed as Usagi waved to her giggling mother, “Now, I get all so serious-o! This day, we, that is, all of us, embark on a new journey. We have much to do, a world to nurture and repair and we started with ourselves. As we are all newly born, we will right the wrongs of the past, yet we will also honor the better things of our past. Under the banner of the Chrysanthemum and Fenghuang, we will cherish these in our art, music and culture, and to the world. The new federation is your friend and ally. America, Europe and all nations, you can call on us night or day – just let me get some sleep first if its after midnight,” she giggled, setting off the press gallery again. “You can count on us and we extend the hand of friendship and solidarity to all!”
Usagi was joined by Mamoru, Aiko and Rei, as a flurry of questions and answers flowed back and forth for almost two hours. Finally, tired and hungry, the press conference ended and all ate in the compound’s dining hall. Guests from over 143 countries world wide in attendance and entertainment the order of the day. But sneaking out of the compound, with the Shitennou shadowing their every move with the palace guard led ably by Luna and Artemis with the compound’s added security minders, it was a chance for Mamoru and Usagi to get away from the hubbub and spend some quality time together alone. They didn’t care about the scrutiny, and kissed passionately within the rotunda at the heart of the nearby botanical gardens where the chirruping of crickets, and the warm breeze embraced them both.
“Oh, my Usako, I do love you!”
“And I you, and you know, I want this moment to last forever.”
“Me too, and I have something for you, look!”
He produced the most beautiful ring Usagi had ever seen, it was an engagement ring, and after their wedding rings were remodeled to reflect their newfound love, this, was the icing on the cake. Usagi’s eyes sparkled, the shimmering ruby carved into a rose reflected in her deep blue orbs. She astounded him in that moment. Her moist lips opening, the gasp, the sweet breath upon his face as he set his own lips over hers, their hands clasped against her chest. She stood on tiptoe as he pulled her closer, and wound his love and his arms about her petite frame.
She sighed with the pleasure of the kiss, and came up for air, “I am so touched, Mamo-chan. I don’t know what to say…yes I do, actually; never being a little bunny rabbit without the right words, comes with the training and courtly manners and all that royal pomp and ceremony. I love you, and thank you, Mamoru my love!”
“And I you, bunny!”

Is it becoming clear to you yet? Look at yourself, standing there, cradling the new flesh I've given you. If it means nothing to you, why protect it?
Lieutenant Commander Data:
I...I am simply imitating the behavior of humans.
Borg Queen:
You're becoming more human all the time, Data; now you're learning how to lie.
Lieutenant Commander Data:
My programming was not designed to process these sensations.

BATTLE FOR THE TYNE WON!
Ramie Milligan reports:
And who said Geordies weren’t still great fighting men and women?
(Holo Images Trent and Sabine Milnor)
Today I interviewed several people who had over the course of those terrifying few days had met the challenge posed by the Dragon Kingdom and their ill-fated attempt to take control of the UK and the entire planet. Our people in Gateshead and Newcastle can stand proud of their achievements in offering decisive resistance that definitely turned the tide here at home in our favor and we offer each our heart-felt gratitude. The Dragon Kingdom’s invasion thwarted by ordinary people, Geordies like you and I, ably supported by our brave armed forces of the RAF, Navy and EU ground troops.
Emperor Endymion of the new superpower and his wife, Empress Usagi of the new Asian Federation -- and crown princess of the Chrysanthemum Throne in her homeland, Japan -- faced the global media at the presidential compound in Beijing to officially announce the end of hostilities. The invading biomorphs and war drones, along with the power behind the recent conflict destroyed. It was over. Now part of the new power block, they were understandably overwhelmed and excited over the victory won by Special Forces that had penetrated a Dragon Kingdom stronghold within the city of Beijing at the local pottery works, where the ZP weapon was ticking down to oblivion within the DK’s HQ. The elite team defusing the dangerous weapon.
In a specially prepared joint statement, the two leaders thanked the military of China and Japan. Also, thanking their allies, soldiers and scientists alike worldwide. The royal couple making special mention of two young women, Chibi-Chibi and Hotaru for their valuable contributions to saving humanity from a most devastating Zero Point bomb.
Prof. Meioh Setsuna had told our correspondent in Tokyo, Greg Pattern that it may have, if it had exploded, had the potential to end all life on Earth and perhaps shatter all inner planets within our solar system. “Truth is, we wouldn’t be here right now if not for these brave girls, the governments of the new federation’s Senshi and Shitennou SAS team. The fact the enemy had taken this desperate step to detonate the weapon was testament to the effort of ordinary people to say, ‘no’ to tyranny.” (Prof. Meioh Setsuna)
IN THE STREETS
(Gateshead riverside)
“People faced off against giant plants -- part animal and part something else – I’d never seen the likes! Our people, mostly civilians of all ages and backgrounds, were marvelous. They took the fight up to these beasts with whatever they could find.” The leader of the resistance, Mr. Jock Mavis said when I asked him how it was on the ground there in the shipyard. He went on to say, “We used everything from flame throwers, nail guns, electrified nets and homemade Molotov cocktails. Our methods may have been crude, but proved most effective when it counted, especially those steam guns, and the steam canons — my idea that be -- and the electrified plating and fencing, too. We’re a brill lot, and I must say, I’m proud of my boys and the lovely lasses who also helped the cause. With our weapons at the ready, we swung into action and soon began to corral the monsters towards the electrified areas of the docks and factories, and fry em’, definitely not a tasty prospect for them. But when you have your fish and chips on Friday night, just be glad we hadn’t ended up on their plates.”
Amy Malone, a mother of three teenage daughters, ranging in ages fourteen to seventeen, all helping in the fight for their cities
“Melissa, Cynthiana, Ileana and their friends and other brave Young people used everything they could find to fight the drones and the monsters: pieces of concrete, and ripped out the much hated parking meters and even the steel sign poles and whatever they could find and gave those things what for!”
Amy, like so many other parents were proud of their youth and with good reason. They used their imaginations and skills to wage a devastating counterstrike against the invader. People of all ages, many veterans of the Millennium war used bricks, rocks, even golf clubs to rifles and crossbows, to garden hoses and took the fight up to the shape shifting drones and the strange creatures roaming the streets. While at the shipyards, cranes were fitted with mace-like iron orbs with huge metal spikes on steel pendulous chains as thick as a man’s leg; these proving most effective. An old captain of the Millennium War, Cyrus Caldor, led these brave Geordies in a brilliant and swift assault that had the enemy on its knees by the time the amazing climax had taken place.
Thank you all for your brave and incredible ingenuity and boldness and we all owe you a great debt this day!

The crude, but effective weaponry forged on short notice by our working people, the engineers, the ship builders and others rallied to the cause and secured the bridge on the Tyne and with the military struggling at first; the local lads had erected a series of makeshift concrete boundaries and improvised on battle technique and weaponry. But in the end, they helped give the allies time to come to their aid, and what a spectacle it was!

Star Trek Next Generation, debut, Incident at Farpoint Station
Yatan woke up feeling as if his head were ripped off his body and reattached with an arc welder. He blinked at the sterile fluorescent lighting overhead and realized he wasn’t dead. Stiff, and unable to move, he managed to catch sight of a nurse, doctor or somebody like that seated with her legs crossed in the chair not far from his hospital bed. She had a clipboard resting upon her knee and a pair of metal framed glasses perched upon the bridge of her slender nose, her complexion dusky, her indigo eyes were shimmering with secrets, and her tumble of emerald hair matching the long lashes gave her a professional beauty he couldn’t but help appreciate.
She smiled as he gazed at her with questioning eyes. Slowly taking in his surroundings, another woman came into view. It was that girl, the princess. She was darker of skin, perhaps a sister to the emerald haired woman beside her. But no, her hair was blonde and styled differently, and her eyes green. She wore a pair of denim shorts, a white tee shirt, black silk stockings and white sandshoes with loud pink laces, a white bow holding back her hair in a single plait that plunged over her contoured figure and pooled in her lap. She was smiling, a child-like fascination washed over her face as she read a novel set into the cradle of a crystal pod in her lap. She was pretty and yet, innocent. Something was bothering him about her though, for reasons he couldn’t fathom. Well, not yet anyway. He just stared at the child-woman. But there was something about her. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. Then it dawned on him, his mind threw up the image of Seiya, his brother.
‘But…how!’ He sighed, remembering how his physiology was capable of shape shifting. But there was more. She was, in a word, unique, not a trace of her former life, as Seiya existed. Her recognition of him had brought forth the recall, memories like cold water splashing over his befuddled mind. He was unable to figure out the weird paradox. Shape shifting was now a universal trait, this was Seiya, but not he. Then it clicked.
“Seiya?” Yatan asked, drawing the girl’s attention away from her virtual console.
“Chibi-Chibi, actually and you’re Yatan-kun.”
“All right, Chibi-Chibi, yes I am and you’re my…sister now?” he ventured as the grin spreading over her face made him smile back in spite of himself.
Professor Meioh then cut in, “Yatan, you’re under arrest and a guest of the Chrysanthemum Throne, the very institution and its allies you and your siblings sought to overthrow and destroy for your Dragon Kingdom. And so, since the Illuminati is no more, its global strongholds all self-destructing and drones honing in on the biogenic signatures of your superiors, the war in Asia is over and your tenure as prisoner of war has begun in earnest. But, as the nanites in your bloodstream are now reprogramming themselves and we writing your biogenic make-up, soon you too will be like Chibi-Chibi – a new being and free of your crimes and old persona, a new individual. You should be right about…now, just starting to feel the transformation altering your perceptions.”
“No! I don’t want this!” he struggled with the restraints holding him to the bed. But more than that, he could only manage to lift his head an inch or two off the pillow before letting himself fall back and surrender to its softness. What would he do now? The goals they’d fought so hard for, a new world and a mantle of power that now would never be. He wished they’d killed him. Life was not worth living without his Sovereign and she was dead. He was almost certain of it. Dare he ask after her?

First, it was a fish, and now it's a Mintonian sailing ship.
Lt. Commander Data:
Where?
Guinan:
Right there. Don't you see the two swirls coming together to form the mast?
Lt. Commander Data:
I do not see... It is interesting that people try to find meaningful patterns in things that are essentially random. I have noticed that the images they perceive sometimes suggest what they are thinking about at that particular moment. [He looks out at the nebula again]

Besides, it is clearly a bunny rabbit.
Audrey and Shauna stood on the concrete dock watching as the military forces from London and elsewhere poured into their cities. The two friends winking at one another.
“Look, but not…touch,” Audrey giggled.
Then, an elf-faced young green beret smiled and winked at the two pretty girls he’d found such a pleasant and welcome sight in the steel city on the north east coast. “Ladies..” He bowed, and handed them each a box of the famous Black Pool Rock candy, a sweet tooth treat the soldiers kept on hand for the women of the historical working class metropolis while on shore and off-duty.
“Thank you, sir!” Audrey said, jumping up on tiptoe to place a light kiss on the blushing soldier’s cheek. So she was getting married, and an engagement ring shone in the afternoon light on her little pinkie, but for now, she was like her friend and the assembly of other young women touching the hands of their heroes and waving to the proud men of the UK SAS.

Silver Hawk choppers hovered overhead and media had chanced it into the city after the curfews were over. The drones and the biomorphic remains were cleaned up, and the city officially reopened to its own and the world. The story was the same all over the UK, from the newly formed Welsh Republic to the Scottish territories and as far as Ireland, where Prime Minister Flora Dominica had thanked her people who had, much as had the Newcastle and Gateshead peoples, rallied to fight this frightening foe. Worldwide, the results were the same.
Lady Saturn, having slipped into the consciousness of every living being the very moment she struck out against the ZP orb had been forever burned into the minds and hearts of millions. The girl known as Hotaru was a living legend, considered a Goddess and magical warrior of death and rebirth.

After all, they’re hungry lads and would be looking for a little Geordie hospitality, and Shauna, you’re free…so be snappy about it and pop on some more lippy, okay?” she chortled and the girls linked arms and waved at the last of the soldiers and made their way back to the Scotswood Road.

Aiko was talking to Setsuna on the holo-imager, the look on the woman’s face was one of relief. "Aiko-chan, the newly formed biogenic world council is gathering teams as we speak, and with Chibi-Chibi's help, the creatures are being inoculated by the use of the space planes detonating the airborne vaccines over the region effectively neutralizing their aggressive behavior. According to the good professor, these creatures of the Eastern Inferno will evolve into more placid and companionable living systems and the infestations are at an end.”
“I am pleased. The envoy of the federation council is due to contact you. Lady Michiru and her partner, Lady Haruka are dining with Sokhumi and I next weekend after we return to Tokyo, they’re both part of our elite Senshi Task Force and have been promoted as have most amongst their ranks. Artemis and Luna are well-pleased.”
“I will be there, looking forward to meeting them and talking with General Kunzite and your team of fabulous Senshi and Shitennou. Luna and Artemis are so happy, I received my wedding invitation yesterday. They make a wonderful couple, Aiko-chan,” Setsuna smiled, then pressed on, “Yatan has accepted his fate, and with the ZP radiation out of his system, and the new nanites repairing his body , his mind is now clear of Dragon Kingdom influence. But he was much tougher than we thought. I was worried that he would shut down. Organ failure threatened to take place before we revived him and Chibi-Chibi insisted on being there to welcome him when he woke. He’s doing fine and we’re pleased with the drone, or Synth hybrid, The Sovereign of Silence, I mean, Gabriella, her new designation. Darn it, we’re all hybrids! But she was a wonder and surprise to me and my medical team. She is the first life form cultured from an artificial life form, given a human physiological existence, reverse engineering if you like. But we’re studying her and she’s lovely. That is, for a former doomsday device. She and Yatan will be allowed to meet soon and that’s going to be most interesting.”
“Good luck with that, Setsuna. Please bring me up to speed as soon as you have more news. Usagi will kill me if I don’t get some sun. After all, I want to get some surfing in – both anti-grav and terrestrial -- Usagi and I are going to race against Umino, Molly and Nephrite along with Zoicite. Will be fun! Sokhumi will be here tomorrow and he’s a hunk in swimming gear, sexy bod’… I’m sorry, but I miss him, and oh, I have had a –“ she giggled at the look on Setsuna’s face.
“Okay, okay Aiko, better get into the water before you short circuit and he has a fuse to replace!” she laughed, setting off Aiko once again.
“You’re not so stuffy as they say. You ought to get down here and show off that gorgeous body of yours, woman! After all, the guys are hot and you’ll have heaps of fun!”
“I might next time, my friend, but I…have a hot date, too. You’re right girl, I’m not as conservative as I might look!” she giggled, propping the silver-rimmed glasses back up her aquiline nose and winked, then bowed.
“I knew it, a girl after my own heart, see you soon! Take care!”
She laughed, hearing the distinct sound of leather sandals approaching the veranda. Still chuckling, as Usagi entered – no, more like bounded into the room. “Daughter, I am so proud of you,” Aiko said, hugging Usagi, who was crying with the joy of her news that she was dying to share with her mother.
“Mother, I have some news!” Usagi said, hugging her mother once more. Usagi smiling at the fact her mother was wearing a tank top and black denim shorts. After all, it was a holiday resort and mother still looked fantastic, her long tanned legs as graceful, sexy and as youthful as her own -- biogenic hybridization aside -- her dark plaits falling in a thick tumble to the backs of her knees, and that cute twinkle in her eyes was back.
But then, Makoto entered the room. The tall Amazon beauty in her black skirt and gold-mesh top, looked stunning. She too looked casual and pretty, her chestnut locks cascading over her shoulders and down her back like one of those Ancient Greek Goddesses; all beauty and power, “ I know we’re all going to have fun, Usagi and Lady Aiko,” she said, with a bow, the surf is awesome!”
Aiko, miffed at Makoto’s formal introduction rolled her eyes. “Mako-chan, how many times have I told you guys that when I’m not conducting matters of state, its plain, ordinary – biosynthetic and hot and human Aiko? So, let’s join Araya, Mina, Rei and Mamoru and the guys down on the beach shall we? After all, Usagi dear, you’ve got your second honeymoon to enjoy now and we won’t see you both for a whapping six weeks, so lets make the most of these next few days, ne?” she laughed as Usagi placed her hand on her mother’s arm allowing Makoto to go ahead.
“Mako-chan, mom and I have something to talk about, we’ll be right there!”
Makoto smiled and bowed and Usagi chased her down the path a way with her fluffy bunny towel and with said towel over her arm, she was giggling as she stepped in from the golden sun that gave her a rose gold aura as she reentered the doorway of the Spanish styled villa.
“What is it Usagi? I know that gesture very well, and that look. Good news I hope?”
“Most definitely. What else would I have to say these days, aside from the fact I’m in love and happier than at any time in my life!” she said, hugging her mother and looked into those familiar azure eyes.
“Spill child!” Aiko said, amusement in her eyes and Usagi bowed in an exaggerated fashion, before sitting on the edge of the coffee table. “I’m pregnant, and its twins!”
“Oh by the Kamis! I’m going to be a grand mother, fantastic Usagi, my little bunny is having a -- no, twin babies!”
“I have the added benefits of a biogenic body and all is going well and the children are healthy and normal, and here’s the kicker, and no pun intended dear mother,” both women bursting into uproarious laughter at Usagi’s obvious pun, “I-I have more to share, and that’s if I can stop giggling long enough to tell you!”
“And that might be, my little rabbit?”
“They’re communicating with me, in the womb! Serenity is the little girl. She’s already chosen her name, and Kino is the boy. He is wearing me out with his interest in my memoirs, our new physiology is awesome, I feel like a super computer, all the things I still prefer to do myself, are backed up in my biosynthetic cortex and it’s a fun parlor for Kino, thankfully Chibi-Usa, as I am already calling Sere for a nickname, isn’t so demanding!”
Both women laughed as Aiko brought out the cookie jar and the Kona coffee. “You know of course we must perform this ritual, For no good news should go without the rite where we stuff ourselves with cookies and these Mako and Araya hath made, little bunny, so eat up and I will make the coffee, and then we walk on the beach and then, we surf!”
“Awesome, mother!”

[Reciting "Ode to Spot"] Felis Catus is your taxonomic nomenclature, an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature. Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses. I find myself intrigued by your sub vocal oscillations, a singular development of cat communications that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection. A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents, you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance. And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion, it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion. O, Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display connote a fairly well developed cognitive array. And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend, I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.
