Spinners End was not somewhere Lily Potter had ever had any intention of returning, but then she’d always tended to put others’ needs above her own, and familiar habits are hard to shake when it comes to old friends.

This was originally written as a gift for Kelly (indigoenigma) for the Second SPEW Summer Story Swap and beta’d by the lovely Nikki (fg_weasley). It was inspired by Kelly’s prompt of the quote, “Someone has to die in order that the rest of us should value life more,” by Virginia Woolf.
I, of course, own neither Lily nor Severus, nor anything else recognisable from the work of J K Rowling.
