Dreams are sometimes slippery little creatures. And while Hotaru is not entirely sure what to make of one peculiar little phantasy, the question remains how much of it is a mere figment, and how much of it is real?

This story could easily be seen as both a prelude and a postscript for my series "Tales of the Dreamworld." While the prose reads very dreamlike, this remains its strength if you're familiar with the nature of the Dreamworld, and its weakness if you take it as more of a stand-alone story. But it still holds a fond place in my heart, for reasons both beloved and forgotten...
