Reviews on Forgotten Forever by Kihin Ranno

Yes, guess, what I have been on a re-reading spree this past week (I've actually downloaded your stories into my PDA for easy access) and this was another thing I've re-read and devoured at top speed.
In all honesty I think I might love Forgotten Forever more than Hands Fall Together, if only because we have Minako being more kick ass and awesome and then being all buddy cop with a very reluctant Mamoru. Also, the back story with the Dark Moon is fascinating and just... here, I'm not even sure how things will turn out. I feel like the costs will be too high and it hurts me that Usagi and Minako had such a huge fallout.

Wow, this story is amazing! You have Mamoru so dead on. Hope you continue one day!
|
Author's response:
I'm happy you think my Mamoru is true to the one in the series. ^^ I wibble on that some times. And, you may have noticed this already, but Forgotten Forever has just been updated! I hope you enjoy the tenth chapter. ^__^

This a really amazing and depressing story, but at the same time I love it. I really want it to end well, to have the lovers get together because they are the most amazing couple. Also how sailor moon have beaten the black moon family without Mamoru? Please keep going and hope you get them together!

Author's response:
No hints as to the ending, but I just thought I'd let you know (since I fail so hard at responding to these in a timely fashion) that I've updated! I hope you enjoy the next chapter, and thank you very much for the review. ^_^

Okay. now this is good stuff! Dark, but not just wallowing in useless angst... you make the Black Moon family into terrifying adversaries, but they still feel like real, solid characters.
Great stuff! I look forward to reading more as soon as possible!

Author's response:
I'm happy you're enjoying the villains as much as I am. ^_^ And just so you know, I've finally gotten around to updating! And in this chapter, you get to see all the Black Moon villains you haven't gotten a good look at thus far. I hope you enjoy this part, and thank you very very much for the review!

I should really have been working yesterday, but instead, I spent most of my afternoon and evening reading your wonderful story. And, oh, how it makes my heart ache! I'm a lover of Usa/Mamo fics, and the setting of this one is just so beautiful.
I nearly cried (embarrassing at work, might I add) while reading several parts, and my brain keeps telling me that this will not end well, but that seed of hope is begging me to think that it will finally be okay for them all.
The bloodiest scene was written with - well, there is no other word for it but 'taste'. It wasn't overly done or gratuitous, which is something many authors show a certain leaning towards. Instead, you stated just enough to let the reader feel the emotion of the scene without crossing the fine line into gore. Brava!
I was really trying hard to avoid unfinished stories on this site, and I've only made two exceptions thus far, and I've had to add both to the favorites list - darn you and Jason!
I was really overwhelmed by the amount of information you give without making the reader feel like it is an instruction manual and how you carefully evoke memories of other, happier times for the girls. I'm impressed with the 'missing scene' bits and the way you carefully filled in gaps in canon, where things could have been expounded upon, but weren't, for whatever reason.
And now, I shall end this review and wait patiently for the next update.

Author's response:
It feels really weird responding to this for some reason, but I can't stand leaving this unresponded to.
Yeah, crying at work might have been awkward. ^^; I'm happy you didn't think the violence in Desperate Partners wasn't overdone - I'm big fan of blood and gore, so I'm often tempted to have violence for violence's sake. It's fun! :D But I also understand that it's a bit cheap. Lots more violence to come of course, so let's all hope I stay on the better side of it.
I really am please you enjoy this story so much. ^_^ I just hope you still that way by the time the tale ends. *frets* Thanks as always for the review!

Having just read through to the most recently released chapter (5), there are two main thoughts that go through my head:
1) Wow.
2) I really need to stop reading works in progress.
Well, the latter is more just the average 'grr' of reading through what's available too quickly, so, ignoring number two...
wow.
The premise of the story is one I haven't ever seen executed previously, so the originality of the story has a lot going for it, not to mention the absolutely wonderful way it's executed.
The emotional investment of and in each individual character - from the main cast of the senshi to the minor characters like Tsukino Ikuko - is rich, vivid, and detailed, and it is extremely difficult to not feel for each character's tension, worries, grief, and guilt.
I absolutely adore this, and will be looking forward to its continuation.

Author's response:
Yeesh, five made you go wow? Wait until we get to six and seven and then all the way to twenty-four. XD
There is definitely a frustration in works in progress, but in some instances, I prefer it because of how exciting it is when the new chapter DOES come out. So focus on that high. It makes the waits less painful. :D
I was extremely proud of this premise when I came up with it... Oh, dear. Was it in 2000? It was something atrocious like that. Anyway, I always liked the idea, but now I finally feel like I can actually do the plot justice.
Thank you so very much for commenting, and be on the lookout for chapter six shortly. I'm just taking a break from it right now. ^_^
