Mamoru knows he’s not a pillar of strength, but he doesn’t complain when Usagi relies on him, when Ami seeks his advice, or when Minako shows up on his doorstep sobbing and soaked to the skin. He allows himself to be their rock even though he doesn’t feel like he’s as strong as they think he is, want him to be, and need him to be. But he acts assured and self-reliant until the day he catches a glimpse of silver hair and green eyes ducking into the shadows. When that happens, he crumbles and he doesn’t mind showing it.
