Reviews on Burning Low by Kihin Ranno

Yay, I finally get to read this and understand what they're talking about. Your talent for dialogue still burns bright (haha) and I can just picture Logan and Veronica's voices saying these lines. Also a great analysis of their different mindsets when it comes to damage:

For all his progress, he still only saw whole things and broken things. He didn’t know that you could glue the shattered glass back together.

I wonder if this is because females pick up the pieces better than males? Or because in some weird, subconscious way, Logan is chivalrous. Either way, great observation

Author's response:

Always nice to know what the hell I mean. xD Yay good dialogue! I try so hard to get their voices in my head when I write them. For some reason, they come to me fairly easily. I think that's a testament both to the writers of the series and the actors.

I don't know if it's a gender issue so much as it's a Logan issue. I feel like he's a bit defeatist about his problems at this point in his life. He needs to grow up a lot more, poor thing. All the major problems in his life have been pretty unfixable - his mom dies, his dad's a killer, his girlfriend gets killed. His experience sort of dictates hopelessness, and it's going to take him awhile to get that there's another option.
